The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT received the Steve and Sally Glick Award for Innovation - Wednesday, 29 October 2008 09:56

The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT  received the Steve and Sally Glick Award for Innovation for efforts to provide more accessible health insurance to the community from the Chamber Benefit Center Leadership Cabinet and Chamber Insurance Trust. The award was presented to Tony Sheridan, president, and Sheri Cote, director of operations.

The Chamber demonstrated their leadership in establishing access to insurance benefits by opening the Eastern Connecticut Benefit Center, an in-house insurance benefit center located at the Chamber office. The first of its kind in the state, the center, administered by Chamber Insurance Trust and coordinated through its carriers ConnectiCare, Aetna and HealthNet, allows members to speak directly with on-site chamber member insurance agents that assist them with their insurance needs and questions. The center provides information on Chamber exclusive insurance plans available for individuals, groups and the Medicare eligible.

The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT is a collaboration of business and community leaders dedicated to securing and enhancing the economic vitality of eastern CT. The chamber works to create value for its members and the region by providing forums for business networking, leadership and discussions of issues that affect the region; providing opportunities for members to showcase their products, services and accomplishments; helping small businesses succeed through educational programs; and working to reduce the costs of doing business in CT.
